You Should See Me in a Crown

The song was written by Eilish with his brother, musician and producer Finnias O’Connell. The song is a combination of hip-hop and trap, where Eilish sings through “roaring synthesizers and high-speed hits of hi-hat cymbals”. The NME magazine described the song as a “brooding pop anthem.” Eilish's vocals have been described as “whispering” and “muttering”. A vertical music video for the track was released in August 2018 featuring Eilish in a crown covered with spiders while she sings a song. Rachel Hammermüller from Earmilk wrote that “such a video is suitable for this confident performer who has just begun to bring her voice and style to the world of music”. Eilish quoted a woman named Diana as inspiring her for the video and told CR Fashion Book that she showed me how she puts a spider in her mouth, and then I did it. Spiders on my face and hair. It was crazy. But I liked it. I would never have thought in my life that I would have done this. ”
